Learner-Centered Collaborative – Redesigning for Educational Impact

Posted on: August 14th, 2024 by Chase Design

Framework – The Beginning of a New Partnership

In 2022, Learner-Centered Collaborative—a non-profit organization with deep roots in the education sector—approached us, referred by one of our long-time clients, Getting Smart. Their mission was clear: to redesign a key page on their website that would better reflect their innovative framework. Our task was to create a visually engaging experience that minimized heavy text, while delivering a clean and intuitive user interface that resonates with educators and viewers alike.

After multiple iterations and close collaboration, we successfully completed the Framework project, which paved the way for an even larger opportunity: a full website redesign in 2024.

Visual Rediscovery Through the Chase Design Lens

“Our design philosophy is rooted in a deep understanding of a brand’s history and the direction it’s headed.  By immersing ourselves in past + present projects, we uncover the unique essence, tone, and personality that define a brand.  This holistic approach allows us to create designs that not only honor a brand’s original identity but also elevate it to new heights.

Most importantly, we believe that design should be captivating and exhilarating, never dull.”

— Vincent Joon Park, Creative Web Manager at Chase Design

Staying true to Learner-Centered Collaborative’s original color palette, consisting of five primary colors, we aimed to visualize the concept of “Centered”—a reflection of the organization’s mission to focus on learners and educators. We believe that visuals should inspire and engage, never bore. With this in mind, we explored various concepts centered around circles, the perfect shape to symbolize focus and unity.

We ultimately embraced a concept of overlapping circles, with the center serving as the focal point for typography and imagery—a theme that is now woven throughout the website.

Ecosystem – A New Framework

Our next challenge was the Ecosystem page, formerly known as the Framework. Drawing inspiration from a sketch provided by the client, we developed an interactive graphic composed of five circles. Each circle is clickable, leading to detailed sections anchored by vertical navigation—a design that is both functional and visually compelling.

Creating Success – Once Again

The launch of the redesigned site was met with overwhelming positive feedback. We’re thrilled with the results and look forward to continuing our partnership with Learner-Centered Collaborative, helping them further their mission through impactful design.

As we reflect on our journey with Learner-Centered Collaborative, we’re filled with anticipation for the road ahead. Our partnership has only just begun, and we’re excited to continue shaping impactful designs that resonate with educators and learners alike. Together, we’ll explore new horizons, pushing the boundaries of creativity and innovation, and crafting a future where every interaction inspires and engages.

Work with us and discover the difference when passion meets design and problem-solving. Let’s create something extraordinary together.
